Tender tofu fried to a golden crisp and cooked in a warm sauce of tomato, peppers, lime and spices with just a touch of sugar. Sofritas are a hit with vegetarians and meat-lovers alike!

  Ingredients:

Extra Firm Tofu | Cornstarch Jalapenos | Red Bell Peppers Onion | Tomato Paste | Olive Oil Lime Juice | Sugar | Garlic Cloves Oregano | Cumin | Paprika Water | Chipotle in Adobo

Sauce

Chop jalapeno, bell pepper and onion, then sauté in olive oil until softened. Next, add garlic and cook until fragrant. Place veggies, and the rest of the sauce ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth.

Cook Tofu

Press and dry tofu, then break apart into smaller pieces and mix with cornstarch. Sauté in a non-stick skillet with olive oil until crispy.

Pour the sauce mixture into a small saucepan, add water, and simmer for 10 minutes to bold in flavors. Heat olive oil in a large skillet, add golden tofu and the prepared sauce. Stir to combine and warm.
